Way You Love Me

Marc Evans is a new contemporary breed of Soul singer from Baltimore USA. He is now ready to bring us his debut album on Defected, named after his 2005 seminal club hit "The Way You Love Me". It"s a 13 track collaboration between himself and DJ Spen"s global production outfit "The Muthafunkaz". It"s fair to say that this is true slice of soulful house at its finest. Back in 2005, on the back of "The Way You Love me", he flew in from the States for an unforgettable performance at The Southport Weekender: That was the power of that original release that saw Marc performing his hit at far flung places across the world, the record was played relentlessly by touring DJ"s and radio jocks and sold in excess of 10,000 copies, which in today"s tricky musical climate is no mean feat. The album features 13 soulful house cuts including the 3 recently run away sucesses "Serenity" (produced by Japanese outfit Studio Apartment), "Reach Out For Love" and "Given Me Joy". Other hidden gems include Beneath the Crescent Moon, "Am I Crazy", " Tonight"s The Night" and "This Thing Called Love". Its not just Marc"s writing and Vocals that is responsible for this success. The production skills came from DJ Spen & his band The Muthafunkaz which consists of Gary Deane, Gary Hudgins and Irvin Madden, three producer musicians (headed by DJ Spen). Once listened to you will agree that production of this album is exceptional. Dj plays on the singles from the album have been massive including support from Louie Vega, Tony Humphies, and Radio 1"s Pete Tong. Dance and urban press have also tipped big things with 5 stars from Blues and Soul Mag and the renowned "Money shot" feature from DJ Mag! Just to name a few.
