This fifth edition of the volume on "Vascular Surgery" in the "Operative Surgery" series is a larger and more comprehensive work than the fourth edition. With new editors - one from the UK and one from the USA - and an international list of authors from the field of arterial and venous surgery, most of the text has been rewritten and is complemented by many new chapters, more than 800 new line illustrations and over 70 black and white half-tones. For each procedure, the authors have included the indications and contraindications, preoperative preparation, a detailed technical account of the operation and a summary of its complications. It also includes mention of potential pitfalls and advise on how to avoid them.
