Glorious Barsteds
The Cosmic Psychos are an Australian rock & roll institution. The line-up might"ve changed over the years, but its essence remains the same, and if ever you need proof of that, one listen to their brand new studio album, Glorius Basterds, will confirm it. Featuring stalwart member and heart of the band, Ross Knight, as well as new(ish) additions, Dean Muller (of rock gods, Hoss) on drums and John "Mad Macka" McKeering (of Brisbane slob-punk legends the Onyas) tearing it up on guitar, Glorius Basterds is their strongest musical statement in eons. With a real bottom-end oomph in the production, wild six-string wah-wah action from Macka which harkens back to their very early days with original guitarist Dirty, solid-as-a-rock skinsman beats from Muller and the usual array of hilarious, crude and insightful looks into aspects of contemporary Australian culture from Knight, it"s a comeback well worth celebrating. Not only that, but this special 2CD edition features a bonus disc containing 16 classic old-school tracks by the band, including "Custom Credit", "Lost Cause", "Pub", "Go The Hack", "David Lee Roth" and more. This CD is the only place these tracks are available in any format, making this extra-special for longtime fans and newcomers.
