"Never...Go...Gentle..." is the sophomore eort from the enigmatic Minneapolis hip hop trio, Enemy Entropist. Comprised of MC/super producer Cadaver, MC Optix16, and DJ/Producer Asei MT. Combining bone crushing production with a cynical, dog eat dog perspective laced with social & personal commentary to make an aggressive, hard hiing sound unique to Midwest Indie hip hop. Obsessed, prodded, and molded over a 3 year span lled with cross country moves, babies, and recession-like kicks to the groin, NGG is the denition of a labor of love. Originally recorded in a punk-rock living room studio, the demos took shape with a cubical divider separating the t.v. from the mic. Close friend and condant, Ecid, heard an early copy of their progress and thought they had something that could be great; it just needed a lile more polish. He felt if they moved the nal recording s to his Bargain Junkie Love Palace studio, he could get something out of them they hadn t even realized they could achieve yet: enter the Fill In e Breaks mind melting. In August of 2009, they embarked on an intense weekend of non-stop recording. e quantum leap was immediate. ere was a growth and new found glue that was infectious. Transforming the raw emotion of the hooks into backpacker anthems for a hipster apocalypse, each rapper making every verse an instant quotable. ey built a balance between lyrical complexity and melodic sampling that makes their sound deantly engaging. On the ambient anthem Worm Food the group simply laments It s okay to dream, but don t sleep/Dig deep . A theme that rings true through out the album making NGG a beautiful and cohesive Minneapolis hip hop classic. Walking the ne line between temporary and entropy with six brass knuckle sts ready to break down the modern day mundane, EE is poised to be a much needed kick in the face to a hip hop audience well removed from the golden era and mid-90 s . With their Fill In e Breaks debut we feel they have all the nest of weaponry to accomplish just that and then some. Featuring clever guest production and lyrics by Fill In e Breaks front man Ecid. Preceded by remixes from a who s who of Minneapolis producers such as MK Larada(Doomtree), Brandon All Day of Big Quarters, Dj Tada, and more.
