Sigmund Freud Through Lehrmans Lens
This book is based on 16-millimeter amateur films by the psychoanalyst Philip Lehrman who shot these in the 1920s, during his analysis with Freud. A documentary was produced from the films with an accompanying commentary by Lehrman. Almost 50 years after his death, his daughter Lynne Lehrman Weiner published the transcription of the documentary film and a large number of selected stills in the form of an illustrated book. The result allows a very personal view of the prominent figures of classical psychoanalysis and an insight into »their« Europe of the 1920s. The book includes stills of Sandor Ferenczi, Abraham Brill, Ernest Jones, Sandor Rado and many others. In addition, short biographies and essays written by psychoanalysts from all over the world provide an overview of the history of psychoanalysis in Berlin Vienna, France, London, Budapest, and New York
