In 1939, at the age of 17, Wilmer Fields reported to the Homestead Grays, one of the legendary all black teams in the Negro Leagues. He went on to become one of the finest baseball players the Negro leagues produced. This text represents Wilmer Fields" own story of his life in the Negro Leagues.
