According to Indian Legend, the rarely seen albino bear possessed mystical powers. This story of the Spirit Bear captures perfectly the raw beauty of the Columbia River Gorge which has been the guiding inspiration for this music. The soaring cliffs, lush rain forests, waterfalls, ospreys overhead - even "The Big Gray Wall" of the rain clouds evoke strong emotions of nature’s wonder. Ron has drawn on these through the language of New Age and Classical music to create a work for acoustic guitar. The pared down, pure, all acoustic approach to the recording was deliberately taken to allow the richness of the compositions unfettered by production gimmicks to speak directly to the soul.
