This is a picture book based on true events that occurred during 2000-2001. Scruffy, the injured buzzard, arrived on Doris and Jesse Short"s farm near Franklin, West Virginia and remained there from fall until spring, when he flew away. The author, her husband and parents still look to the skies for Scruffy, and when a buzzard flies overhead a smile comes to their faces as they remember their unusual visitor.
