A major part of the Holy Week music cycle, the Lamentations of Jeremiah refer to the prophet"s sorrow at the destruction of Jerusalem, which here becomes an allegorical reference to Jesus" crucifixion and death. Given an excellent (3-star) review by the Penguin Guide, the Pro Cantione Antiqua under the direction of Bruno Turner are (as always) superb.
