They meet kids their own age, elders, and warriors who paint and dress them in traditional style, and get to see fantastic wildlife up close--elephants, crocodiles, and wildebeest all show up for cameos. The culture clash between the New York youngsters and the native Africans is not as pronounced as you"d expect--both sides are more than willing to accommodate the other. The warmth is especially noteworthy in the scenes in which one of the kids is taken to a medicine man for help with a fluid-filled cyst on his head--the care and tenderness provided are truly inspiring. Between the lush photography and visits with enchanting people, Little Warriors is a greatly entertaining safari for the whole family. --Rob Lightner
