Who Made the Potato Salad?

African American church-going women have always been central in preparing food, especially when it involves church functions. Many of these women who were from the South have been an integral and vital part of the community and are known across many counties and some states for their sumptuous culinary delights. You can always turn to them for help or advice. Come with me into the church kitchen, and let us experience exactly how the black church kitchen women work. Sister Zeni Helping-Hands (Inez Robinson-Turpin) is a retired executive assistant who resides in New York City. This is her first book. Cover art by Mira Gandy Photo Credit: Rowena Husbands
