2014 marks the 60th anniversary of Down East’s first issue, and to celebrate we’ve dug up some of the classic magazine covers for this calendar. These retro covers — one per month — are surprisingly cool and will catch the eye of everyone who sees them. Each month includes a look back at what was happening in Maine at the time the featured cover was used, as well as moon phases, important holidays, and tide tables.
