What could be more inviting than buying an old property on an unspoilt Greek island? A halcyon dream of spectacular views, amazing sunsets and azure seas. However, a hapless Englishman, a confessed Greekophile, nearly bites off more than he can chew when deciding to embark on the adventure of a lifetime. To buy an old property in a remote Greek mountain village sounds idyllic, but the challenges can be enormous, especially when speaking Greek is confined to only a few words and access to the property is limited.
