As recipient of a grant from the Joe Strummer Foundation for New Music, violinist and composer Lisa Miles has put herself to work combining classical chops and punk rock inspirations to collaborate with some of Pittsburgh"s most creative visual artists, choreographers, and fellow musicians. In her own words, Miles" music "tends toward either the edgy and intense or the atmospheric, dark and meditative" both of which come through in force on Nalada, Miles latest CD release featuring original compositions, many of which have been used in live, collaborative performances.
