Saint Benedict (Saint-Benoit) (480-547) is the founder of the Benedictine order. This order has always maintained a commitment to manual and intellectual work within the monasteries. Over the centuries, the Benedictine Monks took advantage of the wheat, hops and barley harvests to brew rich and dense beers within their farms. The Brasserie du Bocq drew its inspiration from them to create an abbey beer in memory of Saint Benedict. The fruity notes derived from its fermentation blend harmoniously with the dominant note of liquorice and the caramel. The bitterness is the product of a complex alchemy between the fine hops and special malts which confer a typical note of black chocolate. St Benoit Brune from Saint-Benoit. Beer alcohol content of 6.5%. Brewed in Belgium.
