Cubans in New Jersey is a social history of the Cuban community in New Jersey. The book depicts the experience of the first generation of Cubans who fled the Castro regime and settled in Union City, New Jersey. As the immigrant population grew, they became economically successful and created a community that remains rooted in their culture and language, while they also propelled their children into politics, social services and education. This is an excellent addition to the literature on immigrant communities in the United States.
