A young Moorish prince, cursed from birth to be unlucky in love, is locked away in a high tower by his father, who is eager to keep him from pain. In his tower, the prince comes to learn the wise, witty language of birds and, inspired by it, travels over the high mountains and triumphs in a tournament using ancient magic.
