From 2000 to 2006, the Lady Pride runners of Mountain Pointe High School, in Ahwatukee, Arizona, competed in nearly unvanquished fashion. They were a girls" cross country team who ate up 3-mile races and arduous workouts not as individuals -- not simply for their own personal gain -- but together. While devotedly supported and encouraged by their parents as well as their school, the girls collectively, quite unknowingly, changed the purpose, the perspective, the life, of their Coach.
