Price 22.61 - 24.69 USD
"I"m goin" down in Louisiana, baby, behind the sun." So Muddy Waters would sing in his well-loved Louisiana Blues. Muddy may have been looking for mojo hands in New Orleans, but he would have been totally unaware of Goldband Records in the neighboring port of Lake Charles. By the turn of the 1960s, Eddie Shuler"s tiny label was recording all kinds of local music, including some of the most authentic downhome blues anywhere. This 30 track compilation contains legendary blues recordings from Goldband, based around the classic 1965 Storyville album. Besides the LP tracks, this includes rare singles & 10 previously unissued tracks. Features music from Juke Boy Bonner, Ashton Savoy, Al Smith, Tal Miller, Hop Wilson & Big Chenier. Accompanists include the brilliant blues stars Lazy Lester on harmonica & Kate Webster on piano.
