In the 1950s and 1960s, Helmut Walcha was considered the leading interpreter of Bach. He recorded all Bach organ and keyboard works for the leading labels Archiv (DG) and Electrola (EMI). Some of his mono-era recordings, such as these Bach Partitas, have not previously been issued on CD.
