William Morris 2009 Wall Calendar

EAN/UPC/ISBN Code 9780764943317

A principal founder of the Arts and Crafts movement in Britain, designer William Morris (English, 1834 1896) sought to counter the Industrial Revolution s outpouring of cheap, ugly, mass-produced goods with aesthetically pleasing objects that were made by hand with evident care and pride, yet which would be within the reach of working people. His patterns for fabrics and wallpapers are every bit as elegant today as they were when drawn. The twelve beautiful wallpaper designs featured here are reproduced from a William Morris and Company sample book in the Brooklyn Museum collection. Size: 12 x 13 in.; opens to 12 x 26 in.
