A keychain or key chain or key holder is a small chain, made from silver and sometimes also gemstones that connects a small item to a keyring. In Indian households, women often keep keys of doors and boxes in clusters in key chains. These keyrings are just as much utility items as they are jewelry. In very traditional households, women are also seen tucking these keyrings in their sarees at the waist level. Besides serving as jewelry, these keychains also make excellent gifts and collectibles.
