The Coasters" Greatest Hits album was just their second album release, issued in 1959 as a belated follow-up to 1957"s The Coasters album on Atco. By the time 1959 came around, The Coasters had registered a dozen R&B and pop hits in their US homeland, including the pop chart topper Yakety Yak and the R&B chart toppers Young Blood, Searchin", Yakety Yak and Poison Ivy. These smashes are featured here, as is their very first chart hit Down In Mexico.
