This collection, once again hand-picked by legendry local DJ Andy Glitre, features a sublime mix of soulful vocals, jazzy grooves and fresh and funky beats from both local and international acts, all thoughtfully woven into a seamless summer soundtrack. Bondi Calling 2 kicks off with a perfect surfside mood setter - Twinset"s cover of the Georgie Fame classic "Sunny" and follows with King Tide"s "No Dog War", (featured in the latest "tail-wagging" SONY ad campaign). Other international artists include Beanfield from hip UK label Compost, Amy Winehouse with her gorgeously defiant lament "In My Bed", and excellent tracks from AMP Fiddler, One Million Dollars and Rodney Hunter. Local artists include Jungle Hammer with Linda Jenssen (Wicked Beats Sound System) and Charlie Maclean (Bellydance); Telemetry Orhestra, hardworking Brisbane funk band PTY LTD, and two established, popular live acts with recently released albums - Tracky Dax and UpShot. Local boy Declan Kelly, one of the most sought after drummers in Sydney, was one of the discoveries of Bondi Calling 1, and on Bondi Calling 2 he teams up with vocalist Jeanett Debb on "Slip Away". Other tracks exclusive to the compilation include Aya Larkin"s "Just", and a beautiful closer from Aronas, featuring young jazz musician and acclaimed classical pianist Aron Ottignon.
