This is an Eduard Models 1/48 Scale assembly and painting required plastic model kit of the Lockheed P-38 Lightning, a World War II era U.S. Army Air Force twin-engine fighter aircraft and one of the fastest piston-engine fighters ever produced. Model kit features: Deep-chinned "J or L" variant as assigned to the PTO. Kit has engraved panel lines, highly detailed multi-media cockpit, well rendered landing gear and enhanced wheel bays, choice of drop tanks or bombs, separately molded propeller blades and segmented canopy. Also features die-cut canopy and wheel masks, ample photo-etch parts (interior and exterior upgrades, including color instrument panel, seatbelts) and extensive resin parts (including all major cockpit elements, wheels, tires, superchargers). Plastic is ex-Academy mold.
