Although a prolific musician, writer and performer, Eddie Cochran released only one album during his lifetime, Singin To My Baby appearing in 1957. As much a star of the burgeoning Rock & Roll scene as any of his contemporaries, Eddie was left devastated by the deaths of close friends Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens. So much so, he began making plans for effectively withdrawing from live performing, believing he could achieve just as much success through his records and film appearances. It was whilst heading for Heathrow to catch a flight home that the private taxi he was in burst a tyre and smashed headfirst into a lamp post. Eddie was thrown out of the car and died the following day from severe head injuries. Since that death in 1960, a huge body of recorded material has kept his legend alive, with Never To Be Forgotten released in January 1962.
