Sonar Senghor was the first to bring the traditional rhythms of Senegal, Guinea, Cameroon, the Ivory Coast and Gambia to a European audience beginning in the late 1940"s. He and his impressive troupe became a featured attraction at the Folies Bergeres in Paris and paved the way for the popularity of African music around the globe. These historic recordings have been newly digitally remastered.
