Part one of the Naxos production of "The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire" detailed the collapse of Western civlization and the corrupt and depraved emperors responsible. Part two looks east to the weaknesses of the Byzantine state, the spread of Islam and the Crusades. The music is provided by Balakirev, Ciurlionis and Glazunov.
