Proton Emitting Nuclei and Related Topics: International Conference-PROCON 2007 (AIP Conference Proceedings / High Energy Physics)
Price 129.97 USD
The International Conference on Proton Emitting Nuclei and Related Ropics, PROCON 07, was held at Instituto Superior Técnico, Technical University of Lisbon, on June 17-23, 2007, as the third meeting in the series, after the ones held at Oak Ridge in 1999, and Legnaro in 2003. The Conference successfully provided the occasion to review the most recent developments in the study of neutron deficient exotic nuclei at the borders of stability, and to exchange information between experimental and theoretical physicists regarding future measurements. Experimental results on exotic decays, involving one and two proton emission, alpha emission, and decay from high spin isomers were presented, along with nuclear structure studies of nuclei beyond or close to the proton drip line. In this context, gamma ray spectroscopy, beta decay studies, and their relevance to nuclear astrophysics were discussed. Theoretical studies to interpret most of these phenomena were also presented. Finally, new experimental techniques and future directions of research in the field were addressed.
