The increasing use in schools of CD-ROM and CD-based multimedia, bibliographic databases, full-text archives, directories, utilities and subject-special collections, has created the need for an annotated and evaluative guide to the best CD-ROMS for use in the K-12 curriculum. The author, director of library media services for a school district, has selected a core collection of CD-ROMS and information necessary for acquisitions professionals to make collection development decisions.
