Back cover: Jerry Schmidt received his Ph.D. is Counseling Psychology from the University of Nebraska in 1972. He is presently Assistant Professor of Counselor Education at the University of Denver and a psychologist in private practice at the Family Enrichment Foundation in Denver. Dr. Schmidt has presented numerous workshops on self-change, behavioral counseling, assertiveness, and cognitive restructuring to mental health practitioners, teachers, and counselors. He has also published articles in professional journals on these same topics.
