Michael Joseph Canavan was an American author. He was a graduate of Harvard University - A.M. and LL.B. in 1875. He was an agent for the sale of various building materials, and published several articles concerning old New England and in particular Boston. Rogers"s Rangers was an independent company of rangers attached to the British Army during the French and Indian War.
