From 1900 to 1930, Edward S. Curtis created a massive photographic and ethnographic record of 80 American Indian tribes. This collection of 240 sepia-tone images draws upon Curtis"s documentation of a vanishing people and their way of life and includes portraits of Geronimo, Chief Joseph, Red Cloud, and other prominent individuals.
