At Retrospec Bicycles we take our wheels very seriously. Wheel engineering starts at the core. Retrospec Beta Series bikes feature silky smooth KT hubs with a flip-flop hub in the rear. The hub comes pre-assembled with a fixed-gear cog and a freewheel, so it"s up to you if you want to ride it fixed-gear or coast like you would on a regular bike. Front and rear wheels come with 32 spokes and are built with lightweight 41mm Super Deep-V rims. This is the perfect size rim. Deep enough for optimum performance, and any deeper is just too heavy. All wheels come with a resilient nylon rim tape and CST Super-HP tubes and tires (700x23c), in our opinion the best tires on earth. Remarkable Frame Geometrics. Bar-spin clearance, no toe-overlap, and flat top tube-Retrospec is the only bicycle company in the world that can make these three claims about one frame. All Beta Series bicycles have bar-spin clearance on all size frames (41-60cm). If you aren’t tricking out on your fixit now, you probably will some day soon because your new Retrospec fixit makes it easy and fun. Also, the frame is uniquely designed to avoid any chance of a toe overlap. The front wheel is positioned with exactly enough distance so that you don’t have to worry about rubbing up on the toe clips when your strapped in. All of our bicycles size 49cm and larger come with a flat top tube for a traditional track-style frame.
