The activities in "News Stories (9 - 11)" enable children to: develop understanding of key features of news stories; experience an accessible and varied range of journalistic texts - news reports and feature article; identify and explore the characteristic language features of journalistic writing; distinguish between fact and opinion; analyse and evaluate specific journalistic texts; and, write stories within a word count.
