The Bias Tape Maker is a precision tool that folds fabric into perfect halves automatically. It lets you make smooth, even 1/2" (1.3cm) bias tape for hems, sleeves, armholes, quilting and craft projects. Instructions: Cut Bias Strips-Bias is the diagonal line of a piece of square fabric (fabric cut on the bias will work around curves without wrinkling or puckering). Cut end of fabric straight, fold corner down forming a triangle so crosswise grain meets lengthwise grain of fabric. Mark fold and cut forming bias edge. Using a ruler mark 1 inch (2.5cm)from bias edge, measure and cut as many 1 inch (2.5cm)strips as needed. Join Bias Strips: Join ends of strips with right sides together on the lengthwise grain. Offset ends as illustrated. Sew 1/8inch-1/4inch seams, trim offset ends, press open. Usint Tape Maker: Feed bias strip into wide opening of Tape Maker(wrong side of fabric facing you)Use a pin or needle to help force end through. Secure end of bias tape to ironing board with pin. Pull Tape Maker and press the bias tape as it comes through the narrow opening. Wind any unused tape around a piece of cardboard for storage. NOTE - You may find a few heavier fabrics that do not press easily or keep their press.
