Here, chapter by chapter, Gertrude Jekyll describes dry-wall, rock and terrace gardens, stream, lake, pond and pool gardens, water in the rock garden, the heath garden and woodland gardening. Lists of suitable plants for the various locations are given at the end of many chapters in addition to the information in the text.
