Statistical Methods and Scientific Inference

EAN/UPC/ISBN Code 9780050008706

An examination of the logical nature of uncertain inference, including therein the uncertain inference, the concept of mathematical probability and some other numerical concepts equally requisite, is provided to consolidate the gains established on the other two fronts. The concept of mathematical probability is more strictly defined than has often been done, and its use in scientific inference correspondingly restricted. This removes a good deal of confusion arising from the attempt to apply the concept uncritically to all cases.
