FOREWORD. These Instructions in Aiming and Firing have been written in the hope that they may be found useful to Musketry Instructors and Non- commissioned Officers engaged in the Training of Recruits. In accordance with the Practice at Hythe, they should be committed to memory, as in no other way can uniformity and accuracy of teaching be ensured. The simplest language suited to recruits has been used and all unnecessary details omitted, while the Sequence, rigidly maintained throughout, is that taught at Hythe, and found by experience to be absolutely and unquestionably the best.
