Joost van Bleiswijks quest for the archetypal form may have launched his career, but his clear visual language is now the logical result of the construction process. Made of rectangular sheets, the forms of this product designers output tend to be almost abstract in their geometry, forcing him to select recognisable images. His studio and real-life partner, Kiki van Eijk, makes things that are simultaneously whimsical and surreal, emphasising the child-like wonder of objects, essentially toys for grown-ups.
