This is an anthology of short stories which offers intermediate-level French students a selection of texts to facilitate their acquisition of language through reading. The twenty stories have been grouped first according to theme and then, within these categories, according to linguistic and stylistic difficulty. Difficult words and expressions are explained in the margins, while short biographical notes place the authors within their historic contexts.
