A musical based on Old Possum"s book of practical cats by T.S. Eliot. The Jellicle Cats gather in their junkyard, preparing for the Jellicle Ball, for this is the night when patriarch Old Deuteronomy will choose a cat to be reborn into a new life on the Heavyside Layer. There are stories, songs, and dances from Victoria the White Cat, Munkustrap, Rum Tum Tugger, Grizabella, Jemima, Gus the Theatre Cat, Jellylorum, Skimbleshanks, Macavity, Demeter and Bombalurina, Demeter, Alonzo, Mr. Mistoffelees, and others. The songs explain how Cats are named, whom they fight, how they work and play, entertain, and how they love and why.
