School Governors (Society of Education Officers)
The Education Reform Act 1988 was the most comprehensive and significant piece of educational legislation since 1944. As its provisions have gradually been enacted, so it has become increasingly clear that they have a particular significance for school governors and the role of governing bodies. This new edition of "School Governors" updates the text not only to incorporate the legislative changes in the Education Reform Act, but also to reflect the continually changing emphasis in the roles of the principal partners in the education system: central government, local government, and schools and their local communities.
