Ebenezer Scrooge lives in his own monochrome world of parsimony and austerity; any intrusion is greeted with his favourite retort - Humbug! We witness Scrooge transformed from the stunted emotional cripple - a model of utilitarian pragmatism - redeemed by the modest and vulnerable Bob Cratchit and the ministrations of three ghosts.
