People said the house was haunted. Jimmy Crandall wanted to find out for himself. It used to be his grandfather"s house and now it belonged to his aunt. She didn"t believe in ghosts, but every time she tried to rent the house, the new tenants would move out in a week. The old house was about a quarter of a mile down the road. The road was choked with weeds and blackberry bushes. The trees pressed in so closely that the branches met overhead, and it was dark and gloomy even on bright days.Jimmy worked up his courage. It took a long time, but he finally opened the squeaky door and stepped into a long dark hall. What he saw scared him most of the way back up the road.But Jimmy worked up his courage and went back.
