As frame engineers continue to refine and rework their road frames and forks in order to build more aerodynamic machines, so too are component manufacturers going back to the drawing board in search of more efficient, wind-cheating designs. While we all know that the more accessories we bolt on and attach to our machines decreases our overall aerodynamics, there are certain components that have become staples on our bikes. You know exactly what we"re referring to: those bulbous, unsightly computers that stand out like sails in the wind on our bars and stems. This is where 3T comes in, as its engineers have been providing professional cyclists with some of the world"s best componentry for more than 50 years. 3T took the traditional cockpit design and flipped it on its head, morphing it into an incredibly lightweight and rigid stem, shroud, and navigation dashboard all in one. It"s called the Integra LTD, as it readily integrates your Garmin Edge head units, which, according to 3T, "improves security, aerodynamics, and appearance." The system works in several ways. The stem includes a sleek "cap" that conceals the mounting bolts in an elegant and aerodynamic manner. This shroud was designed to be easily swapped out for a Garmin Integra Mount (available separately), which seamlessly integrates your Garmin computer directly into the stem. Regardless of whether you plan on running an integrated computer, the Integra LTD provides you with a much more sleek appearance than simply strapping a bulky mount to your handlebar or existing stem. The combined weight of the full carbon stem and shroud comes in at 175g (110mm), and it includes titanium hardware. The stem was designed for road, track, and triathlon bikes but can also be used on mountain and cyclocross setups. It features a 1-1/8inch steerer diameter and a UD Gloss Black finish. The stem is available in 100, 110, 120, and 130mm lengths.
