Cotton string is tied the old fashioned way to a 25" inch hardwood handle using a machine that is well over 100 years old. The inside layer of the cotton is tied into a knot so that the end of the handle will not damage the floor. When you are ready to use the mop simply untie the outside transportation string and mop away!
