This flash bracket can be mounted on the bottom of a DSLR with a standard 1/4" threaded tripod socket and the flash can be mounted at the shoe at the other end of the bracket. The flip design allow the shoe end to be adjusted easily. The bracket can help you use flash better to eliminate "red eye" and soften harsh shadow.
