Bob Boone was a defensive stalwart behind the plate for the better part of 19 seasons. Part of baseball family Boone"s dad Ray played for thirteen seasons while his sons Aaron & Bret both had successful big league careers. Bob Boone won Gold Gloves as a catcher for three different teams (Phillies Angels and Royals) and he won four straight after his 38th birthday. Boone had a cannon behind the plate as many of the runners that tested his arm paid the price. He also was a big league manager for six seasons with the Royals and Reds.
