In 2008 when Mike Farris received the Americana Music Association"s "New and Emerging Artist of the Year" award he had been slowly getting back to playing live shows both solo and with his backing band, The Roseland Rhythm Revue named for his manager who had passed away shortly after the release of Salvation In Lights. That record which had opened the door on the next chapter of Farris" career had been crafted with some of the best session players Nashville had to offer but he was looking for something a little more earthy and gritty for his live sound. He created a weekly residency so the group could find their feet and become a "band" and this album captures exactly what it felt like being at those Sunday Night Shout"s at the historic Station Inn. The shows were similar to the old tent revivals with all the rawness and sweat that was lifted from the hundred or so people that happened to attend and it was always an inclusive event that appealed to all walks of life. This live album also serves as the recorded debut of The McCrary Sisters as an actual group. Both Ann & Regina McCrary had been working for years as vocalists in their own right but Mike made a point to put them out front with their sister Alfreda and on this particular recording got their eldest sister Deborah to lead them on the classic "Dig A Little Deeper" which had been done many times by their father Sam McCrary as a founding member of The Fairfield Four. The album went on to receive the Gospel Music Association"s Dove award for "Traditional Gospel Album of the Year" in 2010.
